For over 25 years, Doon Chapel has been providing beautiful and meaningful wedding ceremonies for couples to enjoy in our heritage chapel as well as in special on location sites of choice.
Weddings are officiated by Rev. John Bersche & Rev. Gayle Butler-Bersche, who are also the owner|operators of Doon Chapel. John and Gayle represent over 60 years of combined experience and are highly regarded for their professional, yet warm ways. They believe that ‘the ceremony’ is the basis of your wedding and that the vows you pledge are the foundation of your marriage commitment. Having the right minister who connects with you and your guests in meaningful ways is of prime importance over any other detail of your wedding. John and Gayle’s relaxing, warm personalities will set the tone for your ceremony and keep you at a level of calm, comfort and enjoyability.
Doon Village emerged as a central rural meeting place in the early twentieth century. Doon Chapel’s iconic white steeple and simple structure is reminiscent of the white clapboard churches of New England with their steep roofs and central towers.
The feeling of yesteryear continues today. Much of the interior of this country church has been restored to its old charm and beauty. Antique pews and a stage crafted from inlaid wood create an atmosphere from bygone times.
The chapel is spacious and accommodating. Couples can invite as few as 2 or up to 160 of their closest friends and family to witness their exchange of vows and rings in the ambiance of candlelight and tasteful decor. Free and ample parking is conveniently provided on site.
Schneider’s Creek flows along the back banks of the chapel’s property
as it meanders timelessly through the
village before ultimately meeting the Grand River.
